The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Farmington Valley is a small group of individuals who are affiliated with the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) and are largely in agreement with its beliefs as described in the UU Purpose (click to read).

Typical descriptions of our belief are:

  • Unitarian Universalism (UU) is a fierce belief in the way of freedom and reverence for the sacred dignity of each individual. With Jefferson, we have" sworn eternal hostility against every tyranny over the mind."
  • UU is faith in people, hope for tomorrow's child, confidence in a continuity that spans all time. UU's look not to a perfect heaven, but toward a good earth. We are respectful pf the past, but not limited to it. We trust in growth and conspiracy with change. We have a spiritual responsibility for a moral tomorrow.

We are using a new meeting schedule, designed to relieve the burden on members volunteering to arrange for speakers for each of our meetings.

Therefore, we will meet on the first and third Sunday of each month from September to May. Click here or on Programs on the menu for program details.

The Fellowship's interests are wide-ranging. Our whole approach is to share stimulating ideas through consideration of art, science, and human affairs in general accordance with the Principles of the Unitarian Universalist Association, and to learn from group experience.

It is for this purpose that our discussion period, following the 30- or so- minute speaker presentation and 10 -minute coffee/refreshment break, has become such an important part of our tradition.

You are welcome to attend and even join if you find a common bond.
